
Catcher, 1933-1942. Inducted 1958 (inaugural class).
Won the National League MVP (the Reds’ first!) in 1938 and the NL batting title in 1942. Played for the 1940 World Champion team. Nicknamed “Schnozz.” Fan favorite. Inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986.
