Outfielder, 1953-1961. Inducted 1964.
A four-time all star, he hit over .300 twice in the 1950s while playing a strong center field and contributing power to a team that was known for its pop. Patriarch of a rare three-generation family, as his son Buddy (a Red from 1985-88) and grandsons David (formerly a Reds minor league manager) and Mike (a Red in 2000) followed him to the Majors.
