Third baseman, 1939-1941. Inducted 1961.

Strong defensive third baseman, aggressive base runner, and effective leadoff hitter.  Signed prior to the team’s 1939 pennant-run and 1940 World Series run, he’s often credited as that team catalyst and energizer.  He led the team with a .371 batting average during the 1940 World Series win over the Tigers.
