Helms

Second baseman, 1964-1971. Coach 1983-1989. Inducted 1979.

Rookie of the year, two-time All-Star, two time Gold Glove winner. Hit the first Reds home run in Riverfront Stadium. Led the league in double plays turned in 3 seasons, setting the Reds all-time record in the category in 1971.  Left the team as part of the trade that brought Joe Morgan and other crucial pieces of the Big Red Machine to Cincinnati.  After finishing out his playing career in Houston, Pittsburgh, and Boston, returned to the game as a coach.  Served as interim manager of the Reds at the end of the 1989 season.
