Soto

Right-handed pitcher, 1977-1988. Inducted 2001.

A starting pitcher known in particular for his mastery of the circle change-up, Soto was a bright spot on the post-Big Red Machine lean years of the 1980s.  He set a team record for strikeouts in a season in 1982 and sits just behind Jim Maloney on the franchise’s all-time strikeout leader list.  Was the runner-up for the Cy Young Award in 1983 and was a three-time All-Star.  Spent his entire 11-year career with Cincinnati.
